Vinyl or paper veneers can be often found on the end returns of lower price-point cabinets. We cannot guarantee that our paints will adhere well to a paper veneer - we have no idea what the actual material is or what adhesives were used to apply the veneer to the surface. The resins and additives in our paints may break down the adhesives used for the veneer.
And Milk Paint does NOT adhere to vinyl.
Water-based Conversion Varnish is a clear drying, two-component, post-catalyzed urethane topcoat for professional, industrial and OEM use when high durability is needed.
Enduro Black Pigmented Poly is a professional spray only, high-solids, pigmented water-based coating ideal for cabinets and millwork. Stocked in Black and White, custom colors are available for wholesale customers upon request. White and Clear can be used as tint bases to achieve endless colors.

Ideal Conditions are 70 degrees F and 50% humidity. Refinishing furniture in a space that is below or above the 65-75 degrees F range can lead to problems, and a space below 55 degrees F is definitely too cold.
One issue caused by cold temperatures with water-based topcoats is the development of dimples in the finish called Orange Peel.
Interior wood stains are formulated for interior use and do not contain UV absorbers, mold retardants or HALS (Hindered amine light stabilizers used to protect the polymers from the effects of photo-oxidation.) Waterbased interior stains are much more likely to fail.
You could try this look on an exterior door that will not receive a lot of sun, but be prepared for more maintenance than usual. It is not recommended.
