Spray painting your kitchen cabinets and woodwork is a quick and easy way to update the look of your home. Before painting, ensure best results by following General Finishes's POWER PREP CLEAN STEPS on high-use areas, such as existing kitchen cabinets, tabletops, or anywhere there is heavy "hand traffic" and accumulated oils or grime.

POWER PREP CLEAN STEPS:

  1. Scrub with a strong degreasing detergent first and rinse thoroughly.
  2. Second scrub with 50:50 mix of denatured alcohol and water.
  3. Light sand with a 220-300 sanding pad (our preferred method) or #400-grit sandpaper.
  4. Apply two coats of General Finishes Stain Blocker to prevent stain, tannin or aniline dye bleed-through before paint.

Although GF uses many kinds of spray equipment, we show how well the affordable Earlex 5500 Spray System performs. It's a great way to enter into the world of smoother finishes and faster production times. Matt "Blue Eyes" Basford sprayed with a 2.0mm (0.08") stainless steel tip and needle.
