GENERAL FINISHES PRO SEALER is a self-crosslinking single component sealer for hardwood floors designed to be used with Pro Floor Stains, Pro Image, and Pro Shield. Apply over Pro Stain the same day and save time and labor.
Pro Sealer represents the most recent advancements in technologies for the floor industry and has many advantages over traditional floor sealers:
- Exceptional warm tone, wets the wood deeper than other water base sealers
- Maintains clear finish and will not yellow over time
- Low odor and low VOC
- Fast dry times
- Exceptional buffability
- Can be used on native and exotic species of wood
- No need to shake - simply stir and it's ready to use
- Add Pro Stain to create a custom tone to a new wood floor or to enhance stain color
- Top coat with Pro Image, Pro Shield or Pro UV
- Part of a fully non-combustible finishing system

IMPORTANT: Record moisture meter readings in several places before applying Pro Sealer. These readings will provide a benchmark at later stages to determine when the floor is dry enough to apply another coat.
OVER BARE WOOD:
Apply two coats of Pro Sealer followed by two coats of Pro Shield.
OVER GENERAL FINISHES PRO FLOOR STAINS:
Before applying, allow Pro Floor Stains to dry 2 to 3 hours @ 70° / 70% humidity or until the moisture readings return to the original numbers.
OVER OIL BASE STAINS:
Allow oil based stains to dry 72 hours or twice as long as the manufacture recommends. Always test for adhesion before proceeding.
APPLICATION: Apply with T-Bar and mohair cover at a rate of 400-500 sq. ft. per gallon. If applying a second coat within six hours, buffing is not required. If applying after six hours, buff with maroon pad and 220 strips. Vacuum off all dust.
APPLICATION TIPS: If conditions are dry and warm, decrease or restrict the amount of air flow. Also increase the application rate and block direct sunlight when possible by closing shades or blinds.
DRY TIMES: 2 to 4 hours under ideal conditions (70 degrees / 70% humidity). The best method for judging dryness accurately is to use moisture meter readings.
NOTE: Many closed grain woods such as maple, walnut, and cherry may only require one seal coat and two finish coats. Most open grain woods such as the oaks and ash will need two seal coats to increase the build of the finish and improve the final result.
