How to Apply General Finishes Pearl Effects Specialty Metallic Paints

Chris Adams and "celebrity guest" Nicole Genz of Rescued Furnishings show how to apply General Finishes Pearl Effects to a mirror painted with Driftwood Gray Milk Paint to create a hammered finish.

Pearl Effects are water based metallic paints used to create specialty decorative finishes and are available in 6 shades: Argentine, Bronze, Burnished, Champagne, Copper and Tawny. They are designed for use over sealed surfaces such General Finishes Milk Paint, Water Based Topcoats and sealed stains.

To get the look in the video, apply a coat of Driftwood Gray Milk Paint and seal with High Performance Satin Topcoat. Pounce on 3 different Pearl Effects Colors: Bronze, Burnished and Argentine over the surface, section by section. While the Pearl Effects are still wet, dab with a damp towel to blend the 3 colors until you get the effect you want. Seal with 3 coats High Performance Flat or Satin Topcoat.
