"In honor of Memorial Day, this Woodworker Wednesday we're very excited to feature Colonel Ellis D. "Bing" Bingham, a retired US Army Colonel and excellent woodworker! At 84 years old, Col. Bingham still enjoys hand-crafting beautiful pieces for his family, neighbors, and friends.
About the sweet little swan rocker (pictured center top), Col. Bingham wrote, "I used GF's Snow White Milk Paint and their High Performance Water Based Top Coat, which is great material to work with, especially when you are working in your garage with a gas fired hot water heater. I always like to be on the safe side. The rocker is for you at no cost for your sweet help. I forgot who you told me that you wanted it for so hope that they enjoy using it. Yours is the fourth one that I have made and my neighbors who have little ones have the other three. Presently I am finishing a desk with two hidden drawers, my own design, for a friend whose daughter is going to college after graduating from high school this year. It gives me something to do to stay out of trouble! " :)
