Father's Day Projects

Father's Day is Sunday June 21st.  Spend some quality time with Dad in the workshop this year and do one of these great projects together. You'll be sure to make his day extra special!

Handprint Sign

Shanty 2 Chic came up with this idea that's great for younger kids.  Start with a 1x12 piece of wood and stain with your favorite GF water based,  oil based liquid or oil based gel wood stain color.  Next have all the little cuties dip their hands in the color of your choice of GF Milk Paint and press on the wood. Voila, you have a super sweet and simple Father's Day gift he'll cherish forever.

Garden American Flag

Here's a great project from My Repurposed Life. Start with a pack of plain garden stakes purchased from any home improvement store. Paint with alternating Holiday Red and Snow White Milk Paint.  Attach the stakes together with screws in the back.  Use GF Klein Blue Milk Paint for the star and you've got a great way to show off your American pride to your neighbors.

Wood Slab Wall Clock

Try out this cool project from Whimseybox. Purchase a clock kit from your local hobby/craft store, paint a wood slab with Dad's favorite GF Milk Paint color and you've got a gift that will stand the test of time.

Pallet Board World Map

For more of a challenge try this project from The Merrythought. What a neat way to remind dad how much he means to you no matter where you are in the world.  For a similar look use GF's Antique Walnut Gel Stain and Linen Milk Paint.  Click on the link above to get all the details of this project.

Refinished Guitar

Is dad a music lover?  For an expert level project, refinish dad's old guitar to it's former glory. Watch Darlington Farms video below to see all the steps.  They used General Finishes Van Dyke Brown Glaze Effects, Lamp Black Milk Paint and Enduro Clear Poly.  For a similar green, we recommend GF Green Dye Stain
