Water Based Wood Stains have all the advantages of oil based stains: they spread easily, can be repaired, blend effortlessly and have plenty of open time. The thicker formula allows controlled penetration, which will reduce blotching on softer wood.  They are a great choice for your next project!

Woodworker Wednesday, where we showcase noteworthy woodworkers, carpenters, and furniture makers in an effort to bring more awareness and appreciation to the art and craftsmanship of woodworking. This week, we're thrilled to feature furniture artisan and hand tool aficionado Scott of Scott Meek Woodworks! His passion for hand tools led Scott to specialize in crafting exceptional wood body planes and offer classes to teach those ambitious woodworkers out there how to craft their own!

Today we'd like to share with you this gorgeous table that was built and finished by Marion Lovett for his own home. This project was quite the challenge considering the table weighs in at about 800-900 lbs!  It is 8" around and made of old oak barn wood.  The bottom was timberframed in the traditional fashion with mortise, tenon and pegs.  All General Finishes products were used to acheive this "medieval look".
